The best moment to go Skandagiri
This hike can be done all year round. The scenery is lush and green and the hills are stunning at the start of winter.
It is also possible to take this trek in summer. Since this trek is mostly performed at night you will be able to take a break from the summer heat of the day.
Beware of trekking in monsoon, as the paths become slippery and muddy.
Weather and Temperature at Skandagiri
The temperatures range from 23 degrees to 17 degrees during November between November and February.
The months from March to May have temperatures that range from 33 to 26 deg.

Itinerary of Skandagiri Trek
Day 1-
Go to the summit, then return to Bangalore

The hike is 5 km along the way to the summit.
A sharp right turn will take you to the summit on the Skandagiri summit.

There’s an old Shiva Temple located at the highest point of the hill, where it is possible to offer a quiet prayer.

It takes about 1.5 hours to descend from the summit.
When you are at the base you are able to return to Bangalore the next day.
Note: A trek downhill isn’t an easy one as the trail is loose and uneven gravel that needs careful negotiation.
It is recommended to begin the trek downhill at 9 AM.
