Pakistan is a country with a rich history of female leaders. From the time of its independence, women have played an important role in Pakistan’s politics and society. Here are some of the most famous Pakistani women who have made their mark on the country’s history. Fatima Jinnah – Fatima Jinnah was the sister of Pakistan’s founder, Muhammad Ali Jinnah. She was a close advisor to her brother and played a pivotal role in the independence movement. After independence, she remained active in politics and served as the Vice-President of Pakistan from until her death.

 

Benazir Bhutto – Benazir Bhutto was the first female Prime Minister of Pakistan and also the first Muslim woman to lead a Muslim nation. She was elected Prime Minister in 1988 but was removed from office after only 20 months due to allegations of corruption. She returned to power in 1993 but was again forced out after just over two years in office.

Pakistani Female Activists

Pakistan is home to a vibrant community of female activists working on a range of issues, from human rights and gender equality to education and health. These women are often at the forefront of Pakistan’s social and political movements, fighting for change in their country. Amongst these inspiring women are some who have become well-known internationally for their work, such as Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai and human rights lawyer Asma Jahangir.

Pakistani Women Cricket Team

Pakistan’s women’s cricket team has been a force to reckon with in the international arena for many years. The team is currently ranked number four in the world, and has won numerous tournaments and matches. Pakistani women cricketers have always shown great skill and determination, and have been an inspiration to young girls all over Pakistan.

 

The current captain of the team is Sana Mir, who has led the side to many successes. She is a highly talented player, and has been instrumental in Pakistan’s rise up the rankings. Other key members of the team include Bismah Maroof, Javeria Khan, Nida Dar and Asmavia Iqbal.
